I've been watching lots of singers in the last few months on AGT, BGT, X-Factor, youtube, etc. Today I had one of those moments where you hear an incredible talent for the first time. I came across this cover of a Pixies tune, I've always liked and really listenend not expecting to be bowled over with a cover tune, the last time I remember it happening was Gretchen Wilson covering Led Zepplin and Heart. Today I had my jaw dropping moment when I heard the young singer Natalie Jones from South Wales open her mouth and release a vocal perfomance that was purely brilliant in tone and execution. Her band blended in without overpowering her performance and created a truly wonderful rendetion of this great Pixies song. I rarely recommend covers but if you miss this one you're missing something truly special, cheers to the Natalie Jones Band, more please...

My favorite kind of music is music that exudes energy, the more drive and energy the tune has the more I like it. That being said, many genres can fit with-in that dynamic. And when genre's come together in a fusion forming a unique sound, I get even more excited. Panther Style a band from Chicago hits all of those targets and delivers to my delight. There rockin' new song, "Seeing... Just Not Believing" (Mixed by Beau Hill)is one tune that has me coming back for multiple listens with it's great rhythmic energy and a punkish pop vibe that all blends together leaving me catching slight influences in the singing that remind me subtly of the way the Beatles delivered on, "I'm Only Sleeping". Needless to say I was excited to find the fresh new rockin' sounds of Panther Style and you will too, check them out now!

One of America's big holiday weekends approaches and during that holiday lots of great music gets listened to all across the nation. I've been playing lots of new material by artist from different genres this week and after a frustrating bout with internet connectivity, I managed to continue my musical quest and though it took me a few days to get my connection stable again, I'm finally able to share a tune that helpe me get through the technical difficulties and one in which I have on my playlist for the holiday weekend once again. I found myself needing a good bit of stress relief dealing with the old wi-fi. And musician/songwriter Derek Delacroix came to my rescue with his subtle, relaxing, rhytmic sounds that were the catalyst for laid back sounds when I just needed to chill a bit this week and sounds which I plan to kick back with once again this weekend. Delacroix delivers in this tune he calls "So Mellow". Evan Wofford has been releasing a variety of work that reaches into many different genres I found this tune and a few others  while playing some of his soundcloud collection and found this tune which according to Wofford, “This is the version of When I Pray that was recording in OH thanks to the kickstarter project launched in 2012."

I find it to be a high energy up-beat pop rock tune that will be going somewhere when it reaches the ears of music lovers, I dig it!

Sometimes you get a chance to just slide into the flow. Everything just grooves right and you find yourself reaching that next level. Music can ease that transition when your mind is heavily occupied as can vivid colors. When you find music that has a vivid color palette in it's composition and execution, the flow you desire becomes obtainable. This afternoon when I began working on a new illustration I kicked on soundcloud and found this great tune from M.A.C. or Many Are Connected. This band of artist really digs into that ethral area of music and create a world worth revisiting over and over when you find yourself needing to slip into that flow, check 'em out

Music update, while out shooting some photos in the woods this weekend, I was thrilled to find the real, "Return of The Mack" was back. International recording artist Mark Morrison is back with a smooth new track I found on the soundcloud iphone app and fueled my creativity with this cool new tune while shooting pictures that will end up in a new music video. Here is a taste of my musical fuel from this weekend.

#Beautiful

I was looking at some established artist in the music business to get an idea of the creative direction that established career artist is taking these days. What I found worth sharing is "#Beautiful'', a new song from Mariah Carey that she and male vocalist, Miquel perform as a duet.
In a fast changing market, you have to be creative continually move forward. Many musicians find these new directions via the route of collaboration. #Beautiful is one such song. Carey fans will be very excited to find this new work when it reaches their ears. #Beautiful is an engagingly fun song. Upbeat and full of positive energy. Carey's voice is in great form as always and interplays well with the male vocals provided by the smooth singing Miquel. Some duets don't gel as they try to match star power and not artistic melding; but this couple pulls it all together, bringing us one of the years most enjoyable new songs. The song has an almost 1960s boy-girl romantic feel to it, like the music lovers would gather around the jukebox and plunge quarters into over and over to capture that lovely feeling the music produced. Yet this is no aged song the music is very modern and adds to the showcase of the smooth vocals surrounding this song's structure. I don't have to plug any quarters into a slot thankfully; instead I can just replay this one over and over while doing something simple....enjoying Mariah's Beautiful new tune! Sometimes from seemingly out of nowhere a new artist or a new song will appear. Today both of those things happened. I am constantly in search of new and interesting creations: visual, audible, tactile, etc. Again that happened today.

An artist named Jeffery Scott Miller has started releasing some of his original songs online and his first one is a live version of a song called, "Live It". Miller and fellow guitarist, Chris Stokes weave together an energetic stringed onslaught of passion with Millers growling vocals painting an accurate portrait of the sage lyrics to this cool new tune. It's very rare indeed to get in on the start of something but now here's your chance, hop on and enjoy the ride!

Early morning find, lovin’ this new tune from Edmmer, it has that high energy attention grabbing vibe that a news cast evokes in a news show’s theme music with a wonderful transition into some dub drops. All filling an effective roll in a song about Urban Combat. Excellent tune my friends, go check it out!

Tonight I found a fun and aptly named tune, "Little-Sprinter" and for those who like to move, this tune sprints along at a very positive and energetic pace. Driving forward with an enthusiasm that a winning sprinter would muster and that kind of energy is what I  really dig in a song.
